Lyracist is a black type winner by Sultry Song out of Watercolors (Theatrical). He raced for 6 years and retired sound without a single blemish. Lyracist was a true competitor with 69 starts and placed out of the money only 6 times. He won the $100,000 Kelso Handicap twice and placed in the G3 Baltimore stakes and had a total lifetime earnings of $589,956.

Very correct conformation, lovely gaits, and a willing temperament. Will also make an excellent sport horse sire. Lyracist is an excellent stallion choice for breeders looking to add topline blood to their program. Although Lyracist was successful on the racetrack, further examination of his pedigree reveals classic lines known to produce show jumpers. Important sires in his pedigree include such contemporary stallions such as Turn-To and Princequillo, but also classic jumper sires such as Teddy, Dark Ronald, Nearco, Marco and Rock Sand. This jumping potential has recently been realized in the chute; at his stallion inspection, Lyracist scored an 8 for his jumping style. He is a classically bred American thoroughbred with proven longevity and athleticism. Lyracist will add refinement to warmblood mares to produce a modern sporthorse.

EVA negative. Introductory stud fee of $1500 in 2007 for TB mares who want JC registered foals. Incentives for PA TB breeders, stakes mares, and multiple breedings, please inquire.
